Teo Simmons

Teo Simmons and His Grandmother Kathy

There is pleasure in raising geese by hand. But teenage Teo knows that it’s hard to sell them when its time.

Farms take hard work, and Teo’s home east of Astoria is no exception. There are miniature horses to care for, as well as trees and bamboo. For Kathy, Teo’s grandmother, there are seven grandchildren to raise.

“Living here in the country is better than being in the city where all the noise and stuff is,” Teo says. “It is peaceful.”

Riding a friend’s quad. Getting a little alone time. Having good health care through Columbia Pacific CCO, and worrying less about being a teen with diabetes. That’s peaceful. That makes the hard work worthwhile.
