Columbia County Year of Wellness 2016

Be well, live well

Together we can make Columbia County the healthiest place in Oregon to live! By working on a comprehensive community approach we can make a difference. Involvement from key partners, leaders and stakeholders in Columbia County’s communities, schools, worksites, health systems, churches, government agencies and others is critical and necessary to achieving a healthy Columbia County. As a whole, we must work to reduce exposure to tobacco products and secondhand-smoke, make it easier to buy healthy foods, be physically active, and make sure people can easily manage any chronic conditions.

Introduction

Columbia County Commissioners proclaimed 2016 Year of Wellness at the December 16, 2015 Board of Commissioners meeting. This is a collaborative approach among Tillamook, Clatsop and Columbia County in order to learn more about what we can do to improve the health of our community.

Task force purpose

Work to empower the community to increase opportunities for healthy lifestyles through community initiatives, environmental changes, and formulate platforms for policy and systems change.
