Building resiliency in our communities

We are very pleased to announce that Columbia Pacific CCO has committed to building a Childhood Trauma Informed Network (CTIN) to prevent, heal and treat childhood trauma, while strengthening resiliency in children up to age 18 and their parents. This network will bring together health care and social service providers and organizations, systems and approaches that have been previously siloed to support and sustain a county-wide effort toward integrated, trauma-informed care.

The overall vision of the CTIN is to build resilient communities engaged in the network and supported by a robust community investment plan. This builds upon the CCO’s long-standing work in our communities with understanding the effects of adverse childhood events ( and how trauma-informed care can help mitigate some of those effects.

We are also very pleased to announce that we have hired Angel Escobedo as the senior program development specialist to help us build out networks in Clatsop and Columbia counties, with the potential of creating a network in Tillamook County in the future.

Angel will be working in Clatsop and Columbia counties to address childhood trauma and build resilience by supporting the CTINs in those counties. He will be working to identify resources; develop workplans; and provide capacity building, guidance, training, outreach and coordination to support the networks as they grow and develop. He joins the CCO with more than 10 years of nonprofit leadership experience in the United States and abroad.

He plans to begin this work by conducting a listening tour of individuals and agencies throughout Clatsop and Columbia counties to learn more about what’s currently happening and to gather information to build a plan to move forward.

Prior to joining the CCO, Angel was the executive director of Leadership Clark County; held management roles with Welthungerhilfe, a German-based international nonprofit organization focused on eradicating global hunger and improving food security; and managed large-scale humanitarian projects in Pakistan for Catholic Relief Services.

Angel holds a Master of Public Administration degree in International Management from Middlebury Institute of International Studies at Monterey, CA.
